The Screen ON feature in SpinetiX ARYA lets you define when a screen is allowed to be on. By setting operating hours, the screen will only run during those times and stay off outside them. This reduces manual effort, saves energy, and helps extend the life of the display.

What Screen ON does

Screen ON lets you set a simple rule like: “Turn the screen ON from 7 am to 8 pm, Monday to Friday.” During these times the screen turns on and shows your content. Outside these hours, the screen stays off unless you schedule Priority content or Alerts. Once set, it works automatically in the background.

When is Screen ON useful?

Screen ON is a good fit if you have fixed and predictable opening hours. It removes the need to schedule content so that it aligns with business hours, as the player automatically enforces them. This provides peace of mind and makes content management easier, especially when the same schedule is used every week or when multiple people create content.

When is Screen ON not necessary?

You may not need Screen ON if your operating hours change frequently or if you prefer to manually control your schedule. You can simply schedule content to play when needed, which will turn the screen on, and the screen will automatically turn off when no content is scheduled—making Screen ON less necessary.

How to set up Screen ON

  1. From the main menu, go to Players, then go to Setup.
    Main menu: Players, then Setup
  2. Select the desired player, and click on the Plus Plus button button under Screen On.

Note: Once activated, your Screen On configuration will be reflected on the Schedule page. Areas colored in gray on your player's schedule refer to the time your screen is set to be kept powered off.

How Screen ON works with Priority content and Alerts

Screen ON controls when the screen can be on. Regular content will only display during the "Screen ON hours".

Priority content & Alerts will however turn the screen on even outside the Screen ON hours. After the priority content or alert ends, the screen will turn off again when outside the configured Screen ON schedule.

Troubleshooting

Display Power Management on the Player

In normal cases, you don’t need to enable anything for Screen ON to work. Display Power Management is enabled by default when you first register your player in ARYA.

However, if this setting is manually disabled later, Screen ON will stop working. Restarting the player or reconfiguring ARYA will not turn it back on—you must enable it again in the player’s Control Center.

👉 If Screen ON doesn’t work as expected, this is the first thing to check.

Control Technologies on the Display

Screen ON is compatible with most professional displays and projectors; however, there are certain limitations to be aware of. For more information, please refer to this Support Wiki article.
