How to Request an Upgrade for Your Subscription(s)

If you have access to the Subscriptions section in Assets, you can view your current subscriptions and generate upgrade requests.

An upgrade request allows you to:

  • Move from a limited version (e.g., Discovery or Demo) to a paid subscription (e.g., Enterprise)
  • Start a new subscription if you currently do not have one (e.g. Feature Sets)

Once generated, the PDF can be downloaded and should be shared with your reseller.

Important: Upgrade requests are not automatically submitted and are not officially recorded in the system. The tool simply generates a formal PDF document that you can review and send to your reseller for processing.

Accessing the Upgrade Request Wizard

  1. Navigate to the Subscriptions section in Assets (Learn how to get access: read more).

    • The subscription term must be between:
      • 12 months minimum
      • 5 years maximum
    • Subscription expiration dates always fall on the 1st day of a month
    • By default, the system calculates the expiration date starting from:
      • The 1st day of the next month + 12 months

    Aligning Expiration Dates (If Applicable)

If you already have other active subscriptions in your account, you may be able to align expiration dates.

    You can choose to:

    • Align to an existing subscription expiration date
Align to an existing subscription expiration date

    • Select a custom expiration date

    Did You Know?
Aligning subscription expiration dates helps consolidate renewals and simplifies subscription management.

Note: When aligning with an existing subscription, the first subscription term may be slightly shorter or longer than 12 months to match the selected expiration date.

  3. Review and Generate the Request

Before generating the request, you will see a summary including:

    • The selected subscription type and upgrade path
    • The requested capacity
    • The selected subscription expiration date

Review the information and click Generate Request.
Review and generate the upgrade request

The system will create a PDF document containing the upgrade request details.

  4. Sending the Generated PDF to Your Reseller

Once the request has been generated, you can:

    • Download the PDF immediately
    • Close the dialog and access it later through Generated Requests
    • Download the document as many times as needed
    • Send the PDF to your reseller for processing

You may generate multiple upgrade requests and decide which version to share with your reseller.

Generating a request does not commit you to a specific upgrade configuration.
