What are Feature Sets and how do they work?

Feature Sets add advanced capabilities to your SpinetiX players. They are activated on a player-by-player basis and come in three levels: WIDGETS, KIOSK, and SYSTEMS. Each Feature Set unlocks an additional set of capabilities for your digital signage players.

Feature Sets can be managed in two different ways:

Annual Feature Sets under subscription

Annual Feature Sets provide subscription-based feature capacity managed under a single subscription. Out of SpinetiX HUB > ASSETS, users can assign or unassign available Feature Sets to players as needed. This allows flexible allocation and management of features across the network.

For example, you have:

• A data-driven content application for five hallway displays, requiring 5 players with the Widgets Feature Set.
• An interactive touchscreen application for two displays in the waiting area, requiring 2 players with the Kiosk Feature Set.
• A custom-size LED wall application in the lobby, requiring 1 player with the Systems Feature Set.

To support these applications, you would need an Annual Feature Set subscription with a capacity of:

• Widgets: 5
• Kiosk: 2
• Systems: 1

These Feature Sets can then be assigned to the corresponding players through SpinetiX HUB.

Permanent Feature Set licenses

Unlike Annual Feature Sets, Permanent Feature Set licenses are purchased and managed individually. Each license is permanently tied to a specific player and cannot be reassigned.

Once purchased, a Permanent Feature Set license belongs to the customer indefinitely with no recurring subscription required.

Permanent licenses are a good choice for applications that benefit from a one-time purchase or have specific operational requirements. For example, they are well suited for deployments that require offline operation or for customers who prefer to avoid subscription-based licensing.
